Dimity Kasz

Vintage collectibles, clothes, books.

I like to find fun and functional vintage and design for every day use, re-using what we already have in this world. In my ancestral Hungarian, Semmi sem roughly translates to “A little bit of nothing, a little bit of something” and that covers my areas of interest!

My Story

My mother is an antiques dealer and as a child I was constantly dragged around to markets and antique fairs. The house was always filled with incoming and outgoing stock, and my small eyes were filled with wonder at all the beautiful, strange things people have created for beauty or for function.

As an object and history lover I completed a Master of Museum Studies at Sydney University and was lucky enough to get a job with one of Australia’s top Australiana and print dealers, where I learnt a great deal and got to handle works by some of Australia’s most celebrated past and present artists and photographers.

Objects tell us a lot about our society and environment. They’re bound up in our identity and built world, and this I find endlessly fascinating.

Moving to Iluka was the perfect opportunity for me to start my own semmi sem – Semisem Collections.
