Past Exhibition 

Basic Woodworking Skills has been a popular workshop since August 2023 facilitated by the volunteers at the Iluka Woombah Mens Shed. 65 participants from our local area have had the opportunity to work with tools guided by the wonderful men to create bird nesting boxes, bird feeders and letter boxes. These workshops have given people including many women the opportunity or skills to use tools in a safe and professional environment. Iluka Emporium is so pleased to have formed a partnership with our local Mens Shed which we hope to continue into the future.

 

We are grateful to the Stronger Country Communities Fund, NSW Govt, for funding this rewarding project. Not only will the local birds be happy, the participants gained new skills and friendships.

 

Thank you so much to all the men at the Iluka Woombah Mens Shed for coming on board for this project with such enthusiasm and kindness. The delicious morning teas were appreciated too! The display of the woodwork projects will be on exhibition for the month of May 2024.
