​​Our Feature Artist for January 2025, lives half of her life on a sailing boat.   For the past 6 months she has sailed the east coast of Australia, during with time she indulged in her other passion of painting.   She is stopping in Iluka for a time and has taken the opportunity to share with us and our community a stunning selection of her works created during 2024.

Danielle says that sailing and painting are her passions.  She describes painting on board the boat as a challenge.  The skipper is watching for paint spills and Danielle must compete for space to store her canvas, paints and brushes.

​

She paints the birds she encounters, the scenery and ocean.  Danielle's favorite is the friendly cockatoo that sat on the staunchens at Nara Inlet at the Whitsundays, demanding a feed or else.
